Home studio: Excel Dance Centre

This is Jozie’s first season with YDI. She has been dancing since the age of three and is currently dancing at Excel Dance Centre in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She has been a part of Excel’s performance company since 2016, and has been a part of the XLR8 pre-professional program since 2023. These programs have given her the opportunity to perform pieces by Angel Sutton, Eun Kyung Chung, Seyong Kim, Taylor Timmerman, and many more. With Excel, Jozie has also performed on Carnival Cruise Lines, Walt Disney World’s Christmas Parade 2019, and Walt Disney World’s Halloween Parade this coming October. She has also had lead roles in Excel’s production of The Nutcracker. Some of these roles are Lead Angel, Lead Reed Flute, Maid, and Music Box Doll this coming December. Jozie is currently a part of National Honors Society of Dance Arts, part of the rising teachers program at Excel, and is captain of her dance team. Jozie is very excited to start her first year with Young Dancers Initiative for their twelfth season!
